The Plegers' house, built in 1908, sits on 4th St. among homes of similar vintage—some fully restored, others completely neglected. The Plegers wanted to restore their home while respecting all the existing period detailing. Craftsman touches abound, from built-in sideboards to handsome Douglas Fir pocket doors to remarkably well-preserved stairs and railings. No square footage was added, and the original floor plan remained unchanged, but virtually all the interior spaces were redone, including the baths upstairs and down, the master bedroom, and the kitchen.
